If you want to reply to a message or forward it to one of your contacts, MailSteward can open it in your default e-mail client automatically. The MailSteward app comes equipped with a powerful search function that can scan fields or tags using numerous preset filters. Once you have created a database, you can navigate through it as you would if you were using a standard e-mail client and you can also assign tags to make items easier to find in the future.
#MAILSTEWARD OFFLINE#
Browse through your messages offline and search for relevant information There are many parameters you can modify, should you wish to skip Trash and Junk mailboxes, duplicates or attachments that are too large to be stored locally. To assist you with this, MailSteward scans your Apple Mail or Postbox accounts to retrieve ingoing and outgoing e-mails, complete with attachments. It helps to have a backup if the worst should happen, so that potentially vital information can always be recovered.
#MAILSTEWARD ARCHIVE#
Archive your e-mails to ensure important information is safe in the case of data lossĮven when using well-known mail services, your messages are never completely secure. At the same time, MailSteward is also easy-to-use and features a minimalistic, if slightly outdated interface. Moreover, MailSteward allows you to archive all of your Apple Mail or Postbox messages, as well as mailbox files created with other clients. I don't know if they currently do such things, but I have no idea where their business model is headed.MailSteward is a useful macOS app that can provide you with a safety net in the event your e-mail account is compromised, as well as make it easier to sort through your messages and access important information regardless of the availability of an Internet connection. I've never added contacts to GMail for fear of providing a spam index for Google. I do not expect to need this option very often. Searching a large Mail Steward archive off of a network drive is slow. I delete the Google mail box from Mail.app and move the Mail Steward archive off to my networked Drobo. The majority of my searches will normally be through Mail.app but this Google archive is a nice backup. That means when I want to find something in that old Google account, I can load up the Mail Steward database and perform a separate search. More importantly, it will also index the messages for searching. Mail Steward will copy the messages and attachments into an archive file.
#MAILSTEWARD DOWNLOAD#
Have Mail.app download the complete Mail digest with attachments and then archive the messages and attachments with MailSteward. I want to be able to search the archive when necessary, but I don't want the messages showing up in my normal search results. I want access to the old mail but I don't want to maintain the archive in Mail.app. My theory is that eventually any person or service I care about will catch up with the new address and in a year, I can abandon the GMail accounts all together. So I set each account to forward my to my new mail server. Many people and services still use my GMail addresses. This past weekend, I migrated my primary mail off of Google. As I've said before, my goal is to get as far off of Google services as possible or reasonable.
